BSI Recomended Regular System Maintenance

BSI recommends performing regular system maintenance on your computers running BSI products. For most systems once per week is adequate, however the exact frequency that a system will need maintenance will depend highly on the system hardware and usage.

• Reboot the system regularly
• Run Scan Disk and Defragmenter utilities
• Clear temp folder contents
• Uninstall Programs that are not needed
• Turn off any running processes that are not needed
• Delete the audio.mdb file located in C:\BSI32 (All BSI software must be closed to do this)

If the Operating System is Windows XP Pro

• Delete the contents of Windows/Prefetch

If the computer has internet access

• Run a virus scan
• Run Spyware/Adware removal software
• Delete cookies
• Delete temporary internet files

On a Simian System:

• Set up a daily COMPACTHEAP macro to clear up resourses
• Set up a daily COMPACTDATABASE macro to maintain the audio.mdb database
